My Idol, His Majesty the Fourth King

 



Bhutan is a small country sandwiched between the two giants of the Himalayas. It is the land of thunder dragon and it is the real land of peace and happiness. Bhutan is a harmonious country because of the efforts made by our leaders, the Druk Gyalpos. There were no disputes in the country since 1907 after appointing Gongsa Ugyen Wangchuck as the first king of Bhutan. The three farsighted kings ruled our country before our fourth king. They developed our country in the best of best possible ways. They were the one who brought peace and harmony in our country. They have really made our country, the heaven on earth. Our fourth king, Jigme Singye Wangchuck was born in the year 1955. When he was enthroned as fourth king of our country, he was very young. Still then he shouldered the responsibilities with confidence. He was very dedicated and loyal king. He ruled our country with honesty and sincerity. He is the founder of GNH (Gross National Happiness). The main purpose of introducing GNH in our country is to establish peace. Our fourth king decentralized the power and gave the rights to his citizen to choose our leaders by introducing democracy in our country. He brought many developments in our country. He constructed roads, built schools and hospitals. He developed every corner of our country. He wanted our country to develop further so the people of his nation can have a comfortable life. For this, he introduced democracy in our country through which people have choices to choose the right leader to rule our country and develop it further more. He is so disciplined and when he was ruling the country, he worked hard tirelessly. He even fought war against the terrorist attacks just to save the country’s independence and keep his people in peace. He developed every remote parts of our country. He established schools for our children to learn. He built hospitals for our sick people to get treated. He fulfilled all the needs of our people. He is really a wise and kind leader. He looks only at the well-being of his people. He established free education system in our country. Now when we have so many things in our country, it’s our duty to acknowledge him and pay our gratitude towards his selfless service. Our kings are really filled with the milk of humanness. And especially our fourth Druk Gyalpo as he has done so many things for the nation and the people. He is really my idol. I am lucky to have a king like him. He is the one who has made our country’s future brighter. He is the super hero of our nation.

FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL.

My first day at school is an unforgettable memory for me and gave me a gift I cherish till this date. It was a  comfortable evening in April when I was informed with the news that I have been admitted to Lhuentse higer second school.I didn’t know how to react. I have seen my brother going to school daily, sometimes he was happy about it, but sometimes he was very reluctant to go and made silly excuses to avoid the school. My parents had also brought a very cute school uniform. I liked it and was excited to wear it. But I still had no idea about how the first day of my school was going to be. The school building was huge. It was painted with cartoons. I got happy when I saw my favourite cartoon characters, Tom & Jerry painted on the walls too. My father left me at the school gate to a peon after instructing him about my class. The peon picked me up very gently and started walking through the endless corridors.
